Integration with DGCA ground classes

Every DGCA Ground Class batch uses the C172 G1000 simulator as part of training. Students understand Navigation, Regulations, Meteorology, RTR and Aircraft Technical General concepts inside a live cockpit environment so that when they reach the FTO, nothing feels “new” in the aircraft.

I completed around 18 hours of simulator training on the Cessna 172 G1000 glass cockpit at GetWings Aviation, and it genuinely helped me understand flying concepts much better. Since the simulator is an exact replica of the actual aircraft, it gave me a clear idea of cockpit procedures, instruments, and flows even before starting real flying. It has definitely boosted my confidence for actual flight training.

Overall, the simulator training and structured guidance from GetWings have helped me build a strong foundation for my flying journey, and I feel well-prepared to move ahead with my training.

Getwings Aviation has honestly been one of the best parts of my pilot journey. The ground classes are super clear, structured, and taught in a way that actually makes every concept stick. The instructors don’t just teach they guide, they explain, they repeat until you really get it. The environment is supportive, disciplined, and motivating. Really grateful for the effort and consistency they put into every class. Highly recommended.

My experience with GetWings Aviation Academy has been really good. The classes are well-structured and concepts are explained clearly, especially keeping DGCA exams in mind. The instructors are supportive and always ready to clear doubts, which makes learning easier and less stressful. GetWings provides proper guidance, discipline, and a supportive environment for students who are serious about building a career in aviation.

Really grateful for the effort and consistency they put into every class. Highly recommended. The absolute highlight is their in house glass cockpit simulator,a beautiful setup and a wonderful learning experience.
I got the opportunity to experience their inhouse G1000 Cessna 172 simulator, and without a doubt, it was the most memorable part of my time there.

I was fortunate to experience both day and night flying, with one dedicated session for each. Although these were demonstration sessions, the level of immersion and realism was remarkable, offering excellent cockpit familiarisation, basic procedures, and a strong sense of real life flying.

Training is built to global
aviation safety standards.

FAQs

Simple & clear — everything students and parents ask us before joining.
Why is simulator training important or during CPL?
Flying is not just about moving the controls; it’s about procedures, judgment and staying calm under pressure. Simulator training lets you practise checklists, navigation, radio calls, weather and basic emergencies in a safe, repeatable environment. By the time you sit in the real aircraft, you already know the cockpit, flows and calls, which makes learning faster, safer and more confident.
No. The simulator is used as a training aid to support DGCA exam prep, CPL readiness and airline preparation. Official loggable hours always depend on your flying academy and current DGCA rules.
Students practice cockpit layout, checklists, normal procedures, basic navigation, radio calls, circuit patterns, weather scenarios and basic emergency handling under instructor guidance.
Training is done in slot-based sessions, usually one-on-one or in very small groups, so each student gets proper hands-on time in the cockpit.
It helps at multiple stages: before starting CPL in India/abroad, during training (to strengthen weak areas), before DGCA conversion, and as a refresher before airline simulator checks.
It doesn’t replace mandatory flying hours, but it makes your aircraft time more productive. Students who train on the simulator usually learn procedures faster, waste fewer hours on basics and feel more confident during real flying and checks.
We added the simulator to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real flying. Instead of only teaching DGCA subjects on the board, we wanted students to see and do everything in a real cockpit layout. It also means our students reach flying academies in India or abroad better prepared than others, with stronger basics, cockpit discipline and confidence from day one.
Priority is given to students enrolled in GetWings DGCA Ground Classes or counselling. External PPL/CPL students and pilots can request slots, subject to availability.
Most DGCA students complete a structured set of sessions (up to around 20 hours) before going for actual flying, CPL abroad, conversion or airline assessments. Exact hours depend on the student’s stage and needs.
Yes, in many cases parents can briefly observe how the simulator works, subject to space and training schedule. It helps them understand what their ward is learning.
You can book through our enquiry form, WhatsApp, or by calling the GetWings office. Our team will guide you on available slots and suitable packages as per your current stage.
No. Many students begin simulator training while starting or even before their DGCA Ground Classes. We adjust the sessions to your level, from complete beginner to advanced CPL student.
